The Qatar 2022 campaign
Croatia advanced behind Morocco in Group F and beat Japan and Brazil on penalties after drawing both knockout games. Argentina won the semi-final 3–0, before Croatia beat Morocco to finish third. Their tournament combines a capacity to survive level matches with a clear limit against the eventual champions.
Reading the record
Croatia recorded 2 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat across 7 matches, scoring 8 goals and conceding 7. FIFA’s match summaries record 28 attempts on target from 81 total attempts during their campaign.
Shoot-outs decide which team advances, but their kicks are excluded from the goal totals above. Matches decided on penalties count as draws in this win–draw–loss record; extra-time goals count towards the match score.
Matches to revisit
The Japan and Brazil ties show different shoot-out sequences; the final Morocco match supplies the campaign's finishing position.

Croatia finished second with 5 points. The top two teams advanced to the round of 16.
