Privacy policy

How this site handles information and protects access to its editorial tools.

Last updated: 28 October 2026. This notice describes the current Qatar22.com website, including its public archive and administrator tools.

Reading the archive

You can read articles, browse results and use site search without creating an account. We do not offer public reader accounts, comments, newsletter subscriptions or a contact submission form in this version.

Our hosting and security providers may process technical data such as IP addresses, browser information, request times and requested URLs to deliver pages, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. Hosting infrastructure is provided through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Infrastructure providers may use security cookies; their own privacy practices and retention periods also apply.

Administrator sign-in and cookies

Administrators can sign in using the configured username and password or the authorised owner’s ChatGPT account. ChatGPT sign-in supplies account identity, including an email address, which the site checks to authorise access. Public readers do not need to sign in.

For password access, the site stores a salted password hash rather than the password itself. A secure, HttpOnly session cookie named __Host-qatar22-admin keeps an administrator signed in for up to eight hours. The database stores a hash of the session token and its expiry. Signing out revokes that session; replacing the credentials invalidates previous password sessions.

To limit repeated login attempts, the site stores short-lived attempt counters, including a hashed network address, using a fifteen-minute counting window. Expired session and attempt records are cleaned up during subsequent authentication activity. Blocking or clearing cookies may prevent administrator sign-in from working.

Editorial records and uploads

Articles, drafts, settings and uploaded images are stored in the hosting platform’s database and file storage. Published content is available to the public and can be copied or indexed by search engines. Administrators should avoid including private or sensitive information in content intended for publication.

Email correspondence

If you email the contact address, your email provider and the receiving mail service process the message. The information you choose to send, such as your address, name, page links and correction details, may be used to review and respond to your request. Do not send passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.

External photographs and links

Many photographs load directly from Wikimedia image servers. Loading an external image sends a request to its host, which can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Our image elements use a no-referrer policy to avoid sending the page address with those image requests.

Following a source or photo-credit link takes you to an external website with its own privacy practices. This site does not control those external services.

Advertising, analytics and Search Console

Google AdSense advertising and visitor analytics scripts are not currently enabled. Advertising spaces are placeholders. Verifying the site with Google Search Console does not add an on-site analytics or advertising script.

Before enabling advertising or additional tracking, we will update this notice to describe the services and data involved and implement applicable consent controls. The current notice does not imply that Google ads are already being served.

Your choices and requests

You can manage cookies through your browser, avoid following external links, and choose what information to include in an email. To ask about personal information you have supplied, request its correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, contact info@qatar22.com. Please identify the relevant interaction without including unnecessary sensitive details. We will assess requests in light of the data we hold and applicable requirements.

We retain information as needed for the purposes described above, including security, editorial administration and handling correspondence. Infrastructure and mail providers manage their own records under their policies. This page will be updated when the site’s data practices materially change.
